Without warning, the lights go dim. Silence.
Mundane conversations are exchanged with applause. You feel your heart pounding throughout your body, and you know that every person present is ready for something big and special to happen.
Is there anything more incredible than music in real time? I doubt it. My most climactic moments that I experience as an artist and musician happen when I get through to a group of people, when they connect to my music, when I feel the notes, rhythm and melody take on a life of their own.
The life of a musician and live performance are inseparable, in my opinion. Years of investment, hours of practice, and long days dedicated to composing, all come together in this one great moment; a memory that will stay with us forever.
